This is one of my chicken soup movies. Having seen Dumb & Dumber over 100 times, Mr. Bean’s Holiday is a welcome evolution of the zany road trip comedy.
Please delete the other Bean film we don’t talk about from your memory. It was a pathetic attempt to bring a truly funny series to an American audience, with almost every lame cinema cliché possible. The only good thing was it didn’t morph into a Mr.-Bean-gets-the-girl ending. In contrast, we’re watching a much more fitting continuation of the Bean character. Believe me, you will have fun on this one.
