Alan is my favorite pessimist. He follows history and politics, but doesn’t go along with it. It took me a bit to understand his humor, and that’s my favorite type of comedy – a smart type that rewards you for paying attention.
Alan is the host of It’s Too Late, and deserves the badge of true libertarian. Actually the term should be consistent libertarian. That’s why he’s not a fan of the party sharing the same name. Fun fact: the mug on the talk show desk was a gift from me, when we met in person.
I’m very interested to talk sci-fi and fantasy with him. Not only is he well studied on important things, he also has taken the time to fill his brain with useless fantasy nonsense. Surely he’ll love discussing how boring The Lord of the Rings movies are.
